What is the beneficial survival aspect of autism?

I'm not a fan of the modern tendency to put everyone in categories newly invented based on all manner of genetic differences. I think this is one of those slippery slopes. To top it off, autism itself is not really fully understood. For those reasons, I find it somewhat ethically questionable to start adding the labels of "beneficial to survival" and "non-beneficial to survival" to human beings.
