What are some reasons I might get a parser error (with no specs other than line number) at the very end of?

My PHP code ? I'm using Dreamweaver for CS4 and sometimes I even get the parser error several lines after the code ends. Like it's reporting a parse error for empty lines of white space. I backspace to get rid of some of the empty lines and it moves the parse error back to reflect this.
