How do you get your guy to propose without telling him to just do it?

I want my guy to propose to me but he wants to make sure im comfortable about making the step. We've been engaged before but it was a secret so no one but a few close friends knew, but we called it off because it was too much for me. I'm ready to take the next step but I don't know how to tell him discreetly so he can suprise me with the proposel. HELP!
